Battery Storage Project

In short

Following an earlier sustainability project in early 2025, the client was ready for the next step:

  • 24 kWh Haier battery
  • 10 kW Haier three-phase inverter
  • Backup module

The client’s request

We had previously supported this client in making their home more sustainable by installing a hybrid heat pump and optimizing the central heating system.

After a third party installed a 22-panel Enphase solar system, the client was ready for the next step, with two clear objectives: to store self-generated solar energy and ensure backup power in case of an outage.

How we supported the client:

Because we were already familiar with the property, we were able to provide a well-considered plan for the battery installation.

The client initially preferred installation near the electrical panel, but this was not suitable from a safety perspective, as it would place the system under the staircase, which is part of the home’s escape route.

We advised relocating the system to the shed, where both the battery and backup module could be installed safely.

We handled the full scope of work:

  • Opening and restoring garden and pavement areas
  • Core drilling to route connections outside
  • Modifications to the electrical panel
  • Installation of the battery system
  • Adjustment of the solar power supply

Because multiple systems from different manufacturers were involved, we implemented a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) to coordinate and optimize performance. The system takes into account:

  • Day-ahead energy pricing
  • Expected solar energy generation
  • Predicted energy consumption (self-learning)

In a next phase, we will integrate the hybrid heat pump with the HEMS to further optimize the system.
